Restaurants
55 places in 38 cities.
Places that fit no narrower category end up here, and Amsterdam and Istanbul supply the most. Istanbul's eight are sit-down restaurants in the old town and Beyoğlu, several open very late: Şirvan Sofrasi in the Walnut Shell Hotel near Küçük Ayasofya is reviewed for testi kebab and halim and serves until 1 AM or later, and Aile Restaurant near Taksim cooks Jordanian dishes such as mansaf and maqluba until 2 AM. Amsterdam's nine include Zaffraan, a Middle Eastern restaurant on Kruislaan open from 2 PM, and central addresses on Spui, Haarlemmerstraat and Westermarkt. Elsewhere several are daytime places: the vegetarian Filomila in Athens, MiMi Salads & Bowls in Greifswald and Erba di Grano on Rome's Piazza di Sant'Andrea della Valle all close by 6:30 PM, while STReat in Thessaloniki stays open until 3:30 AM and Al Posto Giusto 2.0, a sandwich bar on the Cirò Marina seafront, until 6:30 AM after Saturday night.
