Gyros & Greek
104 places in 67 cities.
Greece supplies three-quarters of the gyros list, and it leans towards the islands and the west coast rather than Athens: Corfu, from Corfu town to Kavos, Benitses and Palaiokastritsa, has more entries than the capital, and Zakynthos, Lefkada and Kefalonia add nearly twenty more. Most are souvlaki and gyros grills such as To Pontiako in Parga, Souvlaki Artemis in Corfu town and Lalas Ovelistirio in Tsoukalades on Lefkada, and €5–10 per person is the price listed most often. Resort hours run late — Nikos Kebab House in Kavos lists 3 PM to 7 AM — while in Athens To Neoklassiko is on Karagiorgi Servias near Syntagma and Oval opens on weekdays only, from noon to 6 PM. Beyond Greece the list reaches Ksamil on the Albanian coast, four Hungarian snack bars such as Giri Gyros in Nyíregyháza, Kebab Kid on London's New Kings Road and Meat & Greek on Utrechtsestraat in Amsterdam.
