The word grill covers very different places here. In Istanbul it means a sit-down meal: Meat Moot near Taksim serves boards of grilled and smoked meats, and at Beyoğlu Ocakbaşı reviews talk about lamb chops and meze. Greek entries, many of them on the Ionian islands, are mostly souvlaki and gyros grills such as Elvis in Athens, Gyroland in Planos on Zakynthos and Leonidas Grill in Dassia on Corfu, which opens only in the evening, while Portugal adds churrasqueiras like Nova Churrasqueira in Almada, open from 7 to 10 PM, Monday to Saturday.

Sweden has charcoal grills, or kolgrill, in Linköping, Nyköping and on Gotland, Amsterdam grillrooms on Warmoesstraat, Oudezijds Achterburgwal and Rozengracht, and Whitechapel has two halal grill houses, Madina Grill and Makkah Grill, whose reviews mention biryani and wings. About half the entries, though, are kebab-and-grill bars, from the Grillhäuser of Hamburg to SABA Kebab & Grill Bar in Kościerzyna.
